Member Spotlight: Sue

This week, we’re introducing you to one of the most important people behind Bloom Music Community. Sue is an absolute powerhouse of Team Bloom and does so much behind the scenes as a Director of our CIC. We honestly wouldn’t be able to function without all her support, dedication and forward thinking!

Q. What position do you play and which band(s) do you play in?
Repiano Cornet in B Band, 3rd cornet in A Band.

Q. How long have you played for?
5 and half years.

Q. What made you start playing a brass instrument?
Saw an advert on Discuss Littleborough for complete beginners - enquired, roped in a friend and the journey began!

Q. What's your favourite thing about playing in the band?
Performing with the whole band and seeing all our hard work put into practice.

Q. What's your favourite piece (to play or listen to) and why?
Flashdance - reminds me of my childhood.

Q. What advice would you give to someone who's thinking of joining one of the bands?
Be brave and do it. Bloom is full of supportive people who help each other out and Laura (our conductor) has the patience of a saint!

Q. What do you do outside of band?
Mortgage Administrator.

Q. Any other hidden talents or hobbies?
Volunteering, badminton, walking, cycling and holidays. I am also an orange belt in judo!
