Our B Band is the intermediate level brass band in our organisation. Whilst we still perform a challenging programme of music, we take rehearsals a little steadier and spend more time concentrating on rhythms and the fundamentals of brass playing. The band is conducted by Founder & Director of Bloom, Laura Whittaker who has years of experience of working with a wide range of ages and abilities. Her passion is in seeing people develop and become the best version of themselves, by sharing her love of music. Our B Band is perfect for those who may be returning to brass banding after a break, or for those wanting to try a different instrument to their main instrument. We’re currently looking for a Solo Cornet, Bass Trombone and Bb Bass to finalise our group, but we would be happy to welcome any instruments.

Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes at one of our Monday night rehearsals. B Band includes a wide range of ages from 9-70+, but this is a firm favourite with everyone. We love performing the iconic theme tune from Ghostbusters, and it holds a special place in our member’s hearts! Who else loves this theme tune?
